Our Story

The year is 2009, and the owners of one of New Jersey’s largest full service home medical equipment companies are contemplating a new business opportunity. The idea is to provide mobility equipment rentals in a non-traditional sector, namely the Atlantic City casinos. After carefully studying the market, they created a budget and formulated a business plan. A few months later a concept was created and company was formed.

MOBILITY ON WHEELS LLC opens for business…

Before embarking on the casino project, an opportunity arose to launch a pilot wheelchair and scooter rental program at the Cape May County Park & Zoo.  The owners jumped at the opportunity. While still an evolving business model, this program paved the path for the future success of the company.

Mobility On Wheels opens 1st on-site casino resort mobility scooter location…

In November of 2009, Mobility On Wheels first full-service, on-site casino resort scooter rental location was successfully opened at the Trump Marina Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey (now The Golden Nugget Atlantic City). It didn’t take long for the other Atlantic City resorts to hear about the unique, cost effective business concept that actually supports their own front office operations.

In less than a year, a second hotel & resort scooter rental location is opened…

That same year, a second on-site casino hotel & resort location was successfully opened in Atlantic City. Positive press quickly circulated among customers and casino marketing personnel about a new company with a fresh business perspective that truly understands the needs of casinos and their customers.

Shortly thereafter, Caesars Entertainment awarded Mobility On Wheels a contract to provide mobility services to guests of Caesars, Bally’s, Harrah’s AC, and Showboat.

A central dispatch operation coordinates and facilitates rapid growth…

New contracts with Atlantic City’s large casino hotel & resorts created a sudden spike in delivery business. This spike coupled with the steadily increasing business from word of mouth and customer loyalty forced the owners to accelerate Mobility On Wheels business expansion plans. They set-up a temporary dispatch location out of their home basement and garage in order to coordinate deliveries and manage all customer service needs (which are always prioritized at Mobility On Wheels).

Persistence, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to provide their clients and customers with unparalleled service were the key ingredients of their success.

Like the owners planned from the very beginning, the dispatch operation facilitated the successful implementation of systems and routines which the owners of Mobility On Wheels had developed in order to provide unmatched customer service, on time deliveries, and attention to the smallest of details throughout those processes. It also enabled them to maintain a large and rapidly expanding fleet of rental scooters and wheelchairs in like new condition.

As the Mobility On Wheels team fine tuned and implemented their business plan, which was specifically designed to be scalable, the company grew…fast!

Seemingly overnight, the company quadruples in size…

Throughout 2011 the exponential growth of Mobility On Wheels continued. The initial home based dispatch operation was in full swing…it included the owners, two associates, a few delivery vehicles, and a fleet of scooters & wheelchairs.

Mobility On Wheels name and reputation for providing the highest quality mobility products along with unmatched customer service continued to pay off in the form of new partnerships and business. The company literally quadrupled in size after opening additional on-site Atlantic City casino hotel locations at the Tropicana & Resorts along with one in Pennsylvania’s Valley Forge Casino & Resort. This expanded the number of Mobility On Wheels locations from 2 to 8.

Fast forward to 2012, just 2 short years from the company’s formation…

Mobility On Wheels now has a fleet of over 500 scooters and the Atlantic City dispatch office (also our corporate headquarters) has taken up residence in a large building located in the Brigantine Town Shopping Center just 5 minutes from Harrah’s Atlantic City.

The company continues to grow providing services throughout Southern New Jersey, including all of Monmouth County and Ocean County, NJ.  We specialize in taking care of people vacationing along the Jersey Shore. Additionally Mobility On Wheels now provides mobility equipment services and scooter rentals throughout the Philadelphia Metropolitan area to residents and tourists.

As a result of their upscale mobility products and commitment to providing exceptional service Mobility On Wheels has become Atlantic City and southern New Jersey’s largest providers of wheelchairs, scooters, power wheelchairs, and related mobility equipment rentals.

With a strong foundation, Mobility On Wheels plans to expand throughout the United States…

Mobility On Wheels’ business foundation rests solidly on the owners’ combined 52 years of casino industry experience and their 14 years prior ownership of a federally accredited medical supply company. Their experience coupled with a talented team of dedicated associates creates a business synergy that is a winning formula.

From the beginning the owners set out to create a scalable business model designed to bring mobility to those in need in niche industries like the Casino Hotel & Resort industry, large metropolitan areas, and popular tourist, travel, & vacation destinations. While Mobility On Wheels started in Atlantic City, New Jersey the owners vision and current growth has the company expanding throughout the United States and North America.
